Radiation Protection of the Public and the Environment

The Unit develops and applies criteria, methodologies and tools for surveillance and evaluation of the radiological impact, due to the presence of natural or artificial radioactive materials in the environment, to help in the decision making in planned, existing and emergency exposure situations to ionising radiation. The group participates in numerous national, European and international R&D projects related to the radiation protection of the population and the environment.
